I know we just had Story Time with Eli, but I had to share this. Last night Eli wanted to watch football. Of course the season is over, so I dug through my movie collection and came out with the Blind Side.
In the scene of Michael's first football game, a member of the opposing team says something along the lines of "Hey fat*ss, there's more of that all night."
Naturally, I think nothing of it. It's maybe one of three curse words in the whole movie. Sadly, Eli's two year-old year ears picked up on the vulgar speech. On the very next play, Micheal Oher blocks the opposing team's player by pushing him down the field. To this Eli starts yelling, "Way to go fat*ss." "Yay, fat*ss!!"
Ya'll, I was horrified!! All I could say was, "Eli, we don't use that word."
His response, "Okay Momma."
That's it. He's never once uttered it again. I talked with his daycare teacher to warn her, mainly because I don't want them thinking we use that language. Luckily, she assures me that he's never said anything. Needless to say, we are now censoring what Eli watches!!
Out of the mouths of babes!!
