What I'm Lovin'

It's time for me to share with you what I'm LOVIN today. I'm LOVIN' that it's leap day! It blows my mind that we need a whole day to get our orbit with the sun re- aligned . I'm LOVIN' that my parents are coming down for a long overdue weekend! I'm LOVIN' these pinterest find this week... So, so, so true! Purple is a nice spring color...don't you think? I'm thinking about making this for my desk at work. Of course I'm LOVIN' the warm weather this week. I'm LOVIN the time Eli and I spent outside yesterday. And as always, I'm LOVIN my boys.

The Solution

So, in my second post today (yay for you) I thought I would offer a solution. I mean discussing a problem without taking measures to fix it, is just complaining...right? Ok, by now you know the problem...lack of sleep!! So, here's what I plan on doing about it (that sentence sounds so 7th grade science fairish.) 1. Be More Consistent: We have a strict bedtime routine that sadly does not work, and although we are consistent with the progression of events, we lack a definite bedtime. It's usually between 8:00 and 9:00 but can very depending on what's going on, mainly on the weekends when I put him to bed late so that I can sleep in on Saturday . Let's face it, 4:48 comes WAY too early! Anyway, the experts say that consistency is key to more peaceful rest. Looks like 9:00 will be the new bedtime through the summer and 8:00 during the winter. That way I won't have to condition him to the time change...smart thinking if I do say so myself. 2. Get The Bedroom E

Old Habits

Ya'll this picture is my life! Actually, almost my life. Take the marriage bed and husband out of the equation, add a "big boy" bed in its place and...ta da...a night in the life of Morgan Watson. If you have been following my blog for more than day you already know that Eli is the worst sleeper ever. PERIOD. Just last night I fought from 8:30 - 11:00 to get him to bed. He was up again at 1:00, 2:00 and 3:00. By the time I got him back down the last time, I just went ahead and came into work. Let me tell you, it's no fun getting 4 hours of sleep...at best!! Throughout the past two years, six months and seventeen days (buts who's counting) my sleep deprivation has resulted in varying degrees of emotions and behaviors. Normally an easy going and steady lady, I have turned from a southern belle into the big bad wolf in the middle of the night, or just at bedtime for that manner. Normally a logical, sensible women, I have on occasion lost all practicalilty and becom

Party Animal

We had a great weekend around the Watson home, and Eli was such a little Party Animal. Friday night Owen came over to play and bring some yummy cookies. We love watching the boy's budding friendship...they are adorable. And before I die of embarrassment , I know that Eli doesn't match. That's because he insisted on wearing a "Cardinals" top and "Cats" bottom. Sweet boy trying to please both Momma and Daddy! Saturday I was pretty sick with a cold, so I slept most of the morning while Eric watched Eli. When I did decided to join the rest of the family, it was time to head to Emma Kate and Macy's birthday party. It was Candyland themed. Ashley is so creative and did such a good job bringing everything together. Eli was especially fond of the cake...ha! Here he is with Emma Kate who turned 5. And I love that Macy (3) looks like she might eat him in this picture. Bless their little hearts! We got home just before Nan, Grandad and Colby arrived.

Not The Man He Used To Be

Ya'll, it's a sad day in the Watson home. Our beloved dog, Louie, will be having surgery. It's with mixed emotions that I announce that Louie will be neutered this morning. Thus, he will no longer be the man he used to be...haha! Here he is the day he joined our family last April. He was a timid, care-free pup. Even last week he had no way of knowing how is life was about to change this very morning. Poor guy is getting lots of extra loving from us this weekend, especially Eric who feels particularly bad about the impending operation. So, no matter how bad your day, just be happy that you're not Louie!

Just What I needed

I apologize for my blogging absence. It's been a busy week on so many different levels, and I'm just way behind. Nonetheless, I had to share this quote I found on Pinterest today. Sorta hit the nail on the head with this no-good, horribly rotten day I'm having. Promise to share better news tomorrow.

What I'm Lovin'

In honor of the spring-like weather we've been having here in Kentucky, I thought I would show you these pinterest spring fashions that I'm LOVIN.... Of course I'm LOVIN the warm weather, and my sweet boys. What are you LOVIN?

A New Era

Yesterday was a big day for WKU fans. We got a new coach, Ray Harper. He became the intirm coach last month, but now it's official! We went out to Diddle Arena last night to celebrate. Here is the press conference set up. As much as I love my job I'm happy I was in the crowd with my family instead of taking notes with the media! Here's my little Topper fan all excited for the future of our team. After the press conference we had a chance to take picture with our good friend Darel Carrier. He not only built our home, he was also a player for WKU and even on Louisville's ABA. We love that this legend takes time out for us! His buddy Bobby Roscoe was also a big time player. I love that they take time to play with Eli and encourage him! Since it was such a good night, we stopped for ice cream on our way home...just look at that face. Love his heart!!

A Fat Tuesday Funny

Well I had planned on fixing some awesome Jambalaya for dinner tonight and getting a King's Cake, but I forgot that Eric was going to be gone to Nashville to see the Predator's play. So instead, me and my stuffy nose are lounging on the couch, watching Dance Mom's and playing with Eli. I thought I would take this time to share with you one of my finer parenting moments that happened on Sunday. I know this is going to shock you, but Eli still doesn't sleep through the night...ever! For the most part, I have come to grips with the horrible reality, but I still have my moments of insanity. After being up three times on Sunday night, I finally fell back asleep around 3:oo am. Sadly, it didn't last too long. You can imagine my frustration when I was awakened for the fourth time. I sat up in bed, dramatically thew the covers back and announced to my sleeping husband, "I haven't slept in three years. I'm never going to sleep again." Eric stirred

Blast From The Past

Ya'll have probably already noticed this, but I love to take pictures. I'm really not good at it, but I love capturing the memories of my life. Unfortunately, my Momma doesn't share the same sentiments. In fact, we have a family joke that you have to be dead before my parents will put your picture out. It's true. Our house was filled with photos of great grandparents, uncles aunts and other dead family members. Actually, there was one family picture with all of us in it, but it was one of those "Old Time" photos you get at cheesy tourist attractions. I guess since it looked old, they bent the rule. Luckily, there are a few family albums with pictures that were taken on disposable cameras. I'm not even lying when I say that we would buy the Wal-Mart two pack (that's like 54 pictures) and it would last at least six months and sometimes a year. Can you please answer why my parents thought disposable cameras were an acceptable form of photography to begin

Girl Friends

Normally Thursdays are our Mommy/Son Days, but this week we decided to share the wealth with some friends we haven't seen in a while...Eli's girlfriends Emma, Macy and Abby. Here are Eli and Macy crusing around the house. I'll be a nervous wreck when they start driving real cars instead of choo-choo trains and Radio Fylers. At least Eli practices safety and wears a helmet while operating machinery. The girls brought Eli a little Valentine Cupcake. I have a feeling there may be love budding here. They also snacked on Cheetos... and Eli stole a few kisses. Could this be my future daughter-in-law?? Oh yeah, they ate some bananas and snuggled in the chair. All appropriated at this age, but not so much in the teenage years...ha! So precious are these three!! Oh, and their Momma made us this wonderful tile for our kitchen. No doubt about it, we're crazy for the Lindsey Girls!

What I'm Lovin'

It's What I'm Lovin' Wednesda y , so I'm linking up with Jamie to share. For starters, I'm LOVIN' that four years ago today Eric asked me to be his wife. It will always be one on the happiest moments of my life. I've Lovin' that after all this time he still takes my breath away. I'm Lovin' the newest member of our family. On my mom's side there are seven kids, twenty-one grandkids, twenty-one great grand kids, one on way and who knows how many more in the future. I guess it's appropriate to say that I'm LOVIN' being from a big family. I'm LOVIN' that my mom says, "We're not Catholic, just horny protestants." Haha! I'm LOVIN ' that woman's sass!! I'm lovin' this cute winter look I found on Pinterst along with this sweet quote. And as always, I'm LOVIN' my boys!

My Funny Valentine

I'm not big on Valentine's Day. I think it brings a sad awareness to those waiting for the blessing of companionship God brings in a mate. It also becomes a competition to see who can do more, or in some cases who can get more. Nonetheless , Eric and I always celebrate. It's funny how it all changes. Our first year we went to dinner at an upscale restaurant downtown. The next year we went on a lovers get-a-way. Once Eli came along we had candlelight dinners after he went to bed. Today we went to lunch together before heading to the pet store to buy Eli his gift. Afterwards I had to pick up Eric's surprise and get Eli. He was so excited about getting Valentine's from friends at school. His were Batman(much to my display), but I let him choose and that's what he wanted. He was so proud showing off all his candy and letters while I whipped up some special treats for my Valentines. We ate by candlelight the dinning room enjoying some wonderful pasta. As yo
