Every year my Christmas decorations include two bowls filled with Candy Canes. For Eli, this a treat. I literally find half eat candy canes all over the house. It drives me absolutely bananas. It's wasteful and messy, and I can't stand it. However, it's something he loves about this time of year, so usually I'm glad to take one for the team.
This year I really simplified Christmas (which I will talk about later) and part of that was not setting out candy canes. I didn't need the added mess. Plus, Ellie is pulling up and in to everything, and I knew I would be wiping dirty faces and trying to keep them out of the candy all day, so I just didn't go there this year.
I did buy one box which was devoured within an hour. The rest of the candy canes have come from some of our outings. Turns out both of my kids are pick candy cane fans. I can't believe that Ellie (9 months) actually likes peppermint, but then again there are a lot of things I can't believe.
