We finally pulled into town around 7:30 in the morning. The Condo won't be ready until the morning, and we couldn't check into the hotel that early, so we headed to Treasure Island for the day. After a quick breakfast at McDonalds and a miserably hot change into swimsuits in the public bathroom, we hit the beach, and the kids LOVED it!
I ended up calling the hotel to ask about an early check in since no had slept more than two hours, and thankfully, they agreed to allow it. We had done Priceline before leaving and were blessed with a very inexpensive stay at a Marriot in downtown St. Petersburg.
Since it was my birthday I got to choose the restaurant, and we went to a delicious Tex-Mex place downtown. I can't remember the name, but it was undoubtedly the best burrito I've ever had. YUM!!
Despite the food being beyond amazing, it was way past bedtime for everyone. So after dinner we got some cake at Publix and brought it back to the room for a quick treat before bedtime.
It was a wonderful, yet exhausting first day at the beach. I can't wait to get some rest and head to Pass-a-grille tomorrow!
