Ya'll it's only Wednesday, and it's been a doozy of a week. For starters, Ellie woke up on Monday with a nasty cough, so I had to take the day off from work. Actually, I took her into the the office with me for an hour since I was already dressed. Then we came home, did some laundry, and snuggled on the couch while we watched Minnie's Bowtique.
When we got to the doctor, we had a little bit of a scare because they thought she might have strep throat or RSV. Thankfully, it was was neither, and we are dealing with a sinus infection. Since she didn't have a fever and seemed to be feeling fine, we sent her on to daycare yesterday. Yeah, bad idea. We got a call around 2:00 to come get her. I picked her up and stayed home with her while Eric took Eli to his first basketball practice. I hated to miss it, especially since his first real practice was last week...when he was sick!
Eric took off from work today to stay home with Ellie, and she seemed to be much better when I got back. I stayed home from church to spend time with her and Eli tonight. I hated to miss my class, but we have to get this sweet thing on the mend because we have a lot of holiday fun in store for the weekend.
Ya'll, even though it's been a wonky week, I am so grateful for an employer that values family life and makes it possible to stay home to take care of my babies. Nonetheless, all I want for Christmas is for everyone in the Watson home to feel better.
