Yesterday we enjoyed another family tradition…CAVE SING! It's held every year at Mammoth Cave National Park. You get to go inside the cave (for free) and listen to a brass band and choir. Upon leaving you are given complementary cookies and cider, and you get to meet Santa!
This was Ellie's first year because I was pregnant in 2012, and we missed 2013 on account of the event being held on Thanksgiving weekend. We missed going with the Adkins family who also enjoy the tradition. It was actually our second year without them because they went without us last year. We're hopeful that all of our stars will align next year and we can go with all SIX kids!
We ended up staying for a very short amount of time with the kids, but it was perfect. They were able to enjoy the experience, and we weren't overly stressed trying to keep them quiet once they got wiggly. Even though it was a short trip, I would leave early again because it really made the experience more enjoyable for everyone.
Plus, leaving early ensured we were at the front of the line to meet this guy!!
