Today was "Read Across America Day" in honor of Dr. Seuss's birthday. Pretty much every school in our area participated, and so did I. This was something I looked forward to every year when I was anchoring, so it was fun to have the opportunity to get back in the classroom with this job too.
I was lucky enough to read to preschoolers which is always so much fun because they actually like listening to stories, and they love to have a new "friend" visit their classroom. They were so sweet!
We read "Red Fish, Blue Fish." It was kinda a tongue twister, and I was tired by the end. One kid even told me that I took too long. Ha!
Nonetheless, it was a joy to be with the kiddos today. I even shared the wealth and read extra stories to my two babies tonight. Ellie chose to enjoy 462 readings of "Frozen" with a few Disney Princess books sprinkled in the mix, and Eli read his school book to us which was a nice reprieve from Elsa.
