Monday Musings

1. It's Monday, and I'm actually glad to be back in the routine of things.  I had a pretty rotten attitude all weekend, and I think a return to normalcy is just what I needed....that and a good, solid quiet time. 2. Please don't think my poor attitude (mentioned above) is an indication of a productive weekend.  I didn't do a single thing to the house or to prepare for Ellie...other than shop.  But that counts, right? 3. What did a I buy, you ask.  Well, lots of girlie winter clothes for next year. Oh, I can't forget that I scored this year's Easter Dress too.  4. I could lie and tell you that I'll post pictures, but we all know that's not true. You'll just have to wait to and see.  5. I know you're dying to know my opinion on Miss America...ok, you're not but I'm  going to tell you anyway.  I didn't love the winner, I thought talent was a little rough, and poor Miss Iowa totally messed up the majauna question. Big Brother Class

Last night was Eli's Big Brother Class at the hospital where Ellie will be born.  We decided to make it a big deal and let Little Man have a night all about himself and his new role.  So, when I picked him up from daycare we headed home to chose our Big Brother shirt.  We were in a hurry to get out the door, and we completely forgot to get our stuffed animal.   We improvised with a quick run through the Dollar General Store where Eli picked out a hot pink sock money with purple hearts.  I kept telling him he could get a frog, or pig, or dog, or bear or anything...but he insisted.  When I asked him why he wanted a pink toy, he said, "Mom, my sister is a girl."  How sweet is that?  This boy melts my heart! With stuffed animal in tow, we headed to Eli's dining choice of the night...McDonalds.  Ha!  I tried my best to steer away, be he insisted. Oh well, the night was about him anyway!  After dinner and a quic...

Dear Church Family And Friends

Dear Church Family and Friends,  I want you to know that the Watsons are still alive.  We have not died. We have not moved.  We have not changed churches.  We still love Jesus.  We still love you. I realized this morning that it has been almost a month....A MONTH...since we have worshiped with you.  Please don't take it personally.  Between hosting two separate Christmas celebrations, traveling for New Year's and fighting not one, but TWO upper respiratory infections, we're all out of whack.  Really, you can come clean my house if you don't believe me.    I would like to say that I'll see you on Sunday, but I won't.  We'll be enjoying  my Momma's birthday. While we're at it, February 3rd and 10th look doubtful too since we'll be with family and friends celebrating our daughter's upcoming birth. I'm sure we will see you in the weeks to follow, but don't get too spoiled....once Ellie makes her debut on Monda...

Eli's Weekend Redo

If you'll recall, poor Eli had the worst weekend of his life last weekend, so we decided to make it up by having lots of fun today. Eric was actually home sick with some kind of cold, so I treated my boy to a little date afternoon.  First we had lunch at Pizza Hut.  It's his favorite restaurant.  Although, he's a bigger fan of the bread sticks than he is the pizza.  Oh well, they're cheap enough. After our lunch date we went to Chuck E Cheese.  Yes, I realize this is germ city USA, but he's been wanting to go for so long, and once Ellie arrives, I'm not sure how long it will be before we venture out with two.  Plus, I loved the quality time with him. We ran a few errands after we left, and now we're home, relaxing, and enjoying some family time.

A Hint Of Spring

The weather has been unseasonable warm this week.  We usually have a good few days in February when we make it to the park to get some fresh air and find a cure for cabin fever. It's a little earlier than normal this year, but we'll take it! Maybe it's hormones, but I find myself more and more sentimental about soaking in these moments with Eli.  Our lives are about to change.  Our family is about to change, and despite the excitement I have for time, there's still this nagging desire to told on to this a little bit longer.  Eli climbed the playground wall my himself today which is more proof that he's growing too fast.  Our last visit in the fall, this wasn't even possible.  Little Man sure enjoyed playing baseball too.  Of course this was an impromptu park trip, so we had to improvise with a stick and walnut, but I don't think he minded a bit.  We wrapped up our trip to the park with some good, old-fashione...

31 Weeks

How Far Along:    31 Weeks Size of baby:   Ellie is the size of a pineapple.   Total Weight Gain/Loss:   I'm about 6 pounds over my pre-pregnancy weight. I hope I don't just balloon up all at once. Maternity Clothes:   Yep!  Maternity pretty much all the time these days.   Gender:   It's a girl...Elizabeth Victoria Watson!!! Movement: She still moves, but as I mentioned last week, it's much less frequent.  However, there is no denying her now...my whole tummy shakes around.  Sleep: I'm sleeping pretty well this week.  I hope to be well rested when she makes her debut.  What I miss: No denying it...I would give just about anything for a Diet Coke! Cravings: None this week. I'm just hungry in general.     Symptoms : I'm pretty tired today, but I've had a weird few days thanks to Eli being sick.  Other than that, I'm starting to get some back pain. Ugh!  Let's hope i...

Grateful

It's been one of those days.  You know the ones I'm talking about.  I went to work at 5:00 am did  the show, three in studio interviews, and a story shoot all before 9:00.  Then it was home to relieve Eric from baby duty.  I spent the rest of my day taking care of a sick child, cleaning bathrooms, doing laundry, and organizing closets. It wasn't really overwhelming, it was just...boring.  I found myself daydreaming about a pinterest perfect home, a toned beach body, a fabulous family get-a-way, and about a billion other things.  I don't know about you, but sometimes in the thick of every day life I forget to simply be grateful.  I think more times than not, having an attitude of gratitude is as simple as changing our perspectives.  For example: Old : I hate that my baby is still sick. New : I'm grateful for a generally healthy child and for the medical professionals who use their knowledge to help treat minor illnesses.  Old:...
